Red Surcos – the largest manufacturer of agrochemicals in Argentina – is preparing to introduce the first fungicide with nanotechnology in South America. The product, called Acento Induxor, will be a blend of the active ingredients azoxystrobin and tebuconazole, and will provide preventive and curative effects.<\/p>\n
According to the manufacturer, the new technology promises to reduce by half the amount of product applied per hectare. “The fungicide formulated in this way makes its assets more effective and, thus, substantially improves the control it obtains over those fungi that give rise to diseases,” said Antonio Cavaglia, Marketing Manager of the Red Surcos.<\/p>\n
According to Cavaglia, the new fungicide with nanotechnology will be available for use in the next wheat harvest, which begins in the Argentine autumn, between March and June. “In addition to wheat, it is also registered for soybeans and maize, which will be an excellent alternative for the next 2019\/20 season,” Cavaglia said.<\/p>\n
The expert stressed that the new fungicide is very practical, because its formulation has a significant concentration of oil, which avoids having to be added at the time of application. And its composition helps the plant become better prepared against the attack of diseases.<\/p>\n

\nRed Surcos officials said they have been working for more than 4 years in trials with National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) specialists, such as the renowned Antonio Ivancovich and Lucrecia Couretot, and those of other experimental stations.<\/p>\n
“Acento Induxor joins all our line of agrochemicals with nanotechnology, with which we have been growing very strong in the Argentine market, and also registering in other important agricultural countries of the world, such as Brazil, Russia and Ukraine,” he said. <\/p>\n
With this new product, the company wants to grow its presence in the fungicide segment. “This year, we will have more than a dozen new products, including fungicides, insecticides and herbicides, all with nanotechnology,” said Cavaglia.<\/p>\n
Sebastian Calvo, President of Red Surcos, said that they will duplicate the portfolio of nanotechnology products they currently have. He added, “This confirms our leadership in the matter in the Argentine market. In addition, we are convinced of the advantages of these formulations, with less active applied per hectare, but more efficiency and a great improvement in the care of the environment, something that for us is central.”<\/p>\n
