Dow and Rizobacter have launched a product in Brazil that promises innovative control over weeds in the field. Rizospray Integrum adjuvant is a premium oil combined with a solution developed with six vegetable oil-based surfactant molecules. The result is a thermodynamically stable emulsion that potentiates graminicides.

According to the developers, this formulation is different from those currently marketed in the Brazilian market of adjuvants because it has great ability to form a microemulsion and ensure a perfect homogenization of the syrup, which ends up generating a complete mixture between oil and water. These characteristics are fundamental for good adhesion of the herbicide to the plant.

Rizospray Integrum can be mixed with any graminicide currently offered in the Brazilian market. According to the manufacturers, Rizospray Integrum is indicated to combat resistant weeds, such as sourgrass (Digitaria Insularis) and finger millet (Eleusine coracana), which are common in the Brazil.

For Roberta Godoy, Dow’s technical leader for Latin America, the result was only possible by combining the efforts and capabilities of the two companies, which brought together the best characteristics of each. “This process involved the best of both companies: innovation, deep chemical knowledge and Dow’s skilled laboratory structure, with field experience and practical knowledge of Rizobacter,” he said.

According to the General Manager of Rizobacter Brasil, José Cricco, the emergence of invasive plants resistant to herbicides is a reality and results in considerable damages for the Brazilian farmer. “Additives are an important tool in the quality of herbicide application and therefore are and will be fundamental to the farmer in controlling weeds,” he concluded.
