Recently, the research team of Wu Zhengyan, Institute of Technical Biology and Agricultural Engineering, Hefei Institute of Material Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences developed a carbon-based controlled release selenium fertilizer, which can effectively improve the utilization efficiency of selenium and provide effective technologies for the sustainable development of functional agriculture and health food industries supply.
Selenium is a trace element necessary for human body, with obvious anti-cancer anti-cancer effect. Selenium consumption of agricultural products is the best way to selenium, in order to obtain selenium-rich agricultural products, selenium fertilizer is usually used way. However, the traditional release of selenium fertilizer and demand is difficult to match, low utilization, not only will cause low selenium content of agricultural products, but also lead to environmental pollution. Therefore, it is urgent to develop controlled-release selenium fertilizer through scientific and technological innovation so as to realize the efficient use of selenium.
Wu Zhengyan research group using polymer modified hollow nanocarbon spheres to prepare a functional nanocomposites, and as a carrier, loading selenate, developed a controlled release selenium fertilizer. The selenium fertilizer is highly sensitive to anions and can effectively regulate the release of selenium through anions to meet the needs of crops and effectively increase the utilization efficiency of selenium fertilizers and reduce the environmental pollution caused by selenate. Meanwhile, the technology can significantly promote the growth of crops and increase the yield, and has the advantages of high efficiency, environment friendliness and broad application prospects. This work has broken through the bottleneck of key technologies for efficient utilization of selenium fertilizer and is of great significance for the sustainable development of functional agriculture and ecological agriculture.
