China’s water-soluble fertilizer has experienced four major stages of development. The first phase is a blank period, mainly imported by 2000. The second stage is the embryonic stage, after 2005, the water soluble fertilizer industry began to take shape. In 2009, the introduction of water-soluble fertilizer registration standards promoted the development of the industry. The third stage is the development period, from 2010 to 2014, the market gradually standardized water and fertilizer integration process. The fourth phase is the heyday, from 2014 onwards, large-scale operation, fertilizer utilization rate has increased, but the serious excess capacity of basic fertilizers.
             The development of water-soluble fertilizer is still facing the following constraints: First, the production process of water-soluble fertilizer is backward and the production cost is high; second, the packaging and logistics costs are high; thirdly, the development of farmland irrigation facilities lags behind and the irrigation and fertilization are split; fourth, Weak supervision, market turmoil; Fifth, the low level of awareness of farmers, enterprises lack of investment in agricultural services.
              In order to promote the better development of water-soluble fertilizer industry, the following suggestions: First, rational distribution, according to local conditions to develop resource-based water-soluble fertilizer enterprises and secondary processing enterprises. Resource-based water-soluble fertilizer enterprises to become bigger and stronger, to play a scale effect, reduce the cost of water-soluble fertilizer raw materials; secondary processing enterprises to do fine, play professional advantages and enhance service capabilities. Second, we must implement various policies and make every effort to reduce the costs of product production and distribution. We should make full use of the existing conditions of fertilizer manufacturers, reduce the energy consumption of the original fertilizer production, avoid duplication of packaging, reduce transportation costs, research and development of low-cost liquid fertilizer packaging materials, and gradually establish a liquid fertilizer packaging and recovery system to reduce water-soluble fertilizer Cost of production. Third, vigorously carry out experimental demonstration and agro-chemical services. Fourth, increase investment, innovation-driven sustainable development of water-soluble fertilizer industry. Fifth, regulate the behavior, vigorously rectify the water-soluble fertilizer market.
