Recently, the EU announced the draft proposal, proposed in the EU permanent structure of greenhouse banned bifenthrin, and asked Member States to withdraw the product in the outdoor use of the authorized registration. At present, the draft has not yet stipulated the maximum residue limits (MRLs) for the pesticide of the EU and EU member countries. The details of the draft are as follows:

Proposed date of entry into force: Member States have to withdraw the existing authorizations for outdoor use of plant protection products containing bifenthrin 3 months after the date of entry into force. A grace period of maximum 15 months may be granted by the EU member States for disposal, storage, placing on the market and use of existing stocks.

Final date for comments: 60 days from notification

           The product is composed of FMC development, role in the nervous system of pests, by acting on the sodium channel interference. Nerve contact, stomach toxicity, no suction, fumigation effect. Insecticide bifenthrin broad spectrum, quick effect, do not move in the soil and is safe to the environment, the duration is longer.

           Bromethrin in 1986 entered the market, the product in the 21st century to obtain strong growth, mainly due to new registration, mixed formulations and their growth in the non-agricultural areas, including the control of termites. However, the competition for non-patented products depresses the price of bifenthrin. Subsequently, the company re-submitted the bifenthrin material, making bifenthrin re-registered in Europe, but the use of non-agricultural side has not been approved.The mixture of bifenthrin and Z- cypermethrin development in 2007 fumeishi cypermethrin mixture, bifenthrin and imidacloprid in 2011,In 2011、2012， FMC further registered non-patented products in the United States.

           The global sales of buphenol in 2008 – 2013 ranked 12 to 14 in pesticides and global sales rose from $ 190 million to $ 270 million. While 2014 did not enter the top 15 pesticide sales, with global sales of $ 260 million. In 2014 the sales of bupretat in the North American Free Trade Area were about $ 60 million, sales in Asia were about $ 51 million, and sales in Latin America were approximately $ 44 million.

Overview of export of bifenthrin in China in 2017

           China’s exports in 2017 biphenyl ester amounted to 94.225 million US dollars. China’s exports of bifenthrin an important market for the United States, the export amount of 39.99 million US dollars, exports accounted for 41% of total exports. Brazil is the second largest market for buphenol export in China, with exports of about $ 12 million. Pakistan, Israel accounted for 9%,、7% of the market share, exports were 869、703 million US dollars.

           China’s exports in 2017, the first batch of bilobes resin export value of 28.373 million US dollars, the product of the top three export enterprises accounted for 46.6% of China’s total exports of buprofeix.

           Although the EU is not in the main export areas of China’s bisphenol, but its policy of product prohibition has been the concern of other countries, and become the reference and basis for the development of relevant policies. So the proposal that buphenol in the EU banned in the greenhouse will also form an early warning message for enterprises exporting to other regions.
