In December 2017, the quantity and amount of pesticides imported and exported in China dropped by one percentage point year-on-year, while the export prices continued their upward trend with a trade surplus of 706 million U.S. dollars. The number of imports and exports (the volume of goods, the same below) was 138,900 tons, down 8.07% over the same period of last year; the import and export amount was 766 million U.S. dollars, up 20.23% over the same period of last year.

Export situation

In December, the amount of pesticide exports in China declined year on year, the amount increased, and the export prices continued to rise. The number of exports was 136,300 tons, down 7.44%; exports amounted to 736 million US dollars, an increase of 22.14%. From the perspective of the original pharmaceutical preparations, the volume of exports both decreased compared to the same period of last year, but the original drug’s declines were higher than those of preparations; both the export value and the export prices went up. From the export volume, growth of plant growth regulator greater growth, pesticides, fungicides exports showed a larger decline. From the amount of exports, pesticides, herbicides exports the largest increase.

Import situation

In December, the quantity and amount of pesticides imported in China both dropped significantly on a year-on-year basis. Imports amounted to 26,600 tons, down 32.29%; imports amounted to 30 million US dollars, down 13.52%. The number of imported original drugs, the amount of double-digit increase year on year, the number of imported preparations, the amount of a substantial double-down year on year. In terms of the quantity imported, the import of plant growth regulators increased by 1.5 times year-on-year, and pesticides, bactericides and herbicides dropped significantly. From the amount of imports, plant growth regulators increased 5.7-fold year on year, fungicides, herbicides decreased significantly.
