From March 23 to 24, the third meeting on the development and application of fungicides was held in Shijiazhuang. The reporter learned from the meeting that the structure of China’s fungicides registered products has been optimized in recent years. In the newly registered products in 2017, the number of registered registrations of mixed products increased, accounting for nearly half of the total. The number of WP registrations has sharply decreased.

Zhang Nan, a senior agronomist at the Pharmaceutical Productivity Evaluation Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Products, said at the meeting that not only has the number of Chinese fungicide registered products been on the rise, but also the structure has been optimized. By the end of 2017, there were 38,200 pesticide registrations in China, of which 10,000 were fungicide registrations, accounting for 26.1% of the total. The newly registered fungicide products in 2017 involved a total of 21 formulations, of which the new mixed formulations accounted for 45.3% of the total number of new fungicides. The newly registered amount of WP dropped drastically, and thus the first place fell to the third place. So far, there are more than 50 types of dosage forms in the currently registered fungicidal products. The number of registrations of the top 3 formulations of wettable powders, suspensions, and emulsifiable concentrates accounted for 62.65%, of which 3507 were registered as wettable powders. The vast majority.

At the meeting, Shao Shanshan of the China Pesticide Industry Association conducted an analysis on the application of the terminal market. She said that in 2016, the sales amount of the global crop protection fungicides market reached US$13.591 billion, a decrease of 0.9%, accounting for 27.2% of the global pesticide market share. Despite the decline in 2016, fungicides are still the fastest growing category in the past 5 or 10 years. As the third largest pesticide market in the world, China’s fungicides market accounted for less than one-fourth of the market, and there is still great room for growth in the future. More pesticides used domestically are carbendazim, cedin, thiophanate-methyl, copper preparations, tricyclazole, triadimefon, tebuconazole, metalaxyl, difenoconazole, pyrazole ether Fungi, etc., are mostly old products. In 2016, the highest year-on-year growth rate of biocides was 13.9% for various types of biocides, followed by dithiocarbamate and SDHI, which increased by 9.4% and 7.3% respectively year-on-year. The methoxy acrylates, triazoles and SDHI pesticides are the focus of attention in the coming years.

It is understood that Wei Qiwen, secretary of the National Agricultural Technology Extension Service Center, Zhang Wenjun, deputy chief agronomist of the Department of Agricultural and Agricultural Products, Zheng Yongquan, deputy director of the Institute of Plant Protection of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, chairman of the Plant Protection Committee of the Chinese Plant Protection Society, and chairman of China Agriculture Yuan Huizhu, a researcher at the Institute of Plant Protection of the Academy of Sciences, also attended the conference.
